What fruits/veggies work best in a juice extractor?

If you have a juicer, it's like opening a whole new world of possibilities. However, not everything that grows in the ground is suitable for juicing. Some ingredients are naturally "juice powerhouses," while others will only clog the machine.

To enjoy delicious juice without wasting ingredients, choosing the right "star ingredients" is crucial:

⇨ Star Fruits Best Suited for Juicing

Apples and Pears: These two are old friends of all juicers. They are juicy, and the juice they produce is sweet and smooth. Apple juice is also the base for many mixed juices because it pairs well with almost anything.
Watermelon: If you want to experience what "instant juice" is like, watermelon is definitely number one. It's almost entirely water, juices incredibly fast, and is very sweet, making it perfect for summer.
Pineapple: Pineapple has a very high juice yield and a rich flavor. Remember to peel it and cut it into pieces before putting it in. The juice it produces has a slightly frothy texture, making for a very rich taste.
Citrus Fruits (after peeling): While we often say that using a professional citrus juicer is the easiest way to process oranges, if you want to use a multi-purpose machine, oranges and grapefruits are also excellent choices, as long as you peel them first.

⇨ Top Vegetables for Juicing

Carrots: A favorite for many. Carrots have a firm texture and are thoroughly pressed in the juicer, resulting in bright red juice with a subtle earthy aroma and sweetness.
Cucumbers: Cucumbers are like the watermelons of the vegetable world, incredibly juicy. Their mild flavor makes them perfect for diluting concentrated juices, resulting in a more refreshing taste.
Celery: Particularly popular in recent years. Celery stalks are full of fiber and water, and juice very easily in the machine, making them a top choice for many fitness enthusiasts.
Beets: If you can accept its strong "earthy" flavor, it's actually a great juicing ingredient. However, its color is very strong and difficult to wash out of clothes.

⇨ Leafy Greens and Special Ingredients

Kale and Spinach: These leafy greens don't yield much juice, but they are very nutritious. It's recommended to wrap them with apples or cucumbers before putting them into the juicer, so the machine can grip and squeeze them more easily.
Ginger: This is a flavor enhancer. Add a small piece each time to give your otherwise bland juice a spicy kick.

⇨ Expert's Guide to Avoiding Problems

Avoid starchy fruits: Such as bananas, avocados, and mangoes. These won't produce juice in a juicer; they'll only turn into a sticky pulp, not only preventing you from getting any juice but also clogging the filter to the point of frustration. Leave these for a blender to make smoothies.
Be careful with soft fruits: Such as overripe strawberries or kiwis. They are too soft and tend to slip in the machine, resulting in a much lower juice yield compared to harder, crispier fruits.
Remove hard pits: For fruits like peaches, plums, and cherries with large hard pits, remember to remove the pits before putting them in, otherwise your machine's blades might stop working immediately.
